Monkey100 will be a featured vendor at UBC's Responsible Consumption Fair.  It's all happening next week, March 10th - 11th from 9am to 4pm.  You can find us in the Student Union Building, in the main concourse.  This event is a showcase of local businesses and non-profits who focus on sustainable solutions.  There will be lots of demos and great services on offer by some of Vancouver's best green businesses.  Read More

This letter writing campaign to save Bute Inlet and 17 rivers from a proposed hydro project ends December 31st.  I know we're all busy getting ready for the holidays, but this is an issue we can't afford to ignore.

Friday night the Eastside Culture Crawl kicked off to a rainy (and thundery) start but it didn't seem to put a damper on people's enthusiasm for art.  The weekend was a great opportunity to welcome people into the new Monkey100 studio in Strathcona.  Read More

Bridge to a Cool Planet  This fun, family friendly event is part of an international call to take action.  World leaders will be meeting in Copenhagen this December to negotiate agreements around climate change.  The Canadian government needs to be a leader in these talks and it's up to us to let them know where we stand on the issues.  Get involved and be part of this history making event! PROJECT SOMOS: Benefit Fiesta

PEACE SUMMIT: Educating the Heart

I was among the many who packed into the Orpheum theatre today to hear the Dalai Lama and others speak about creativity and educating the heart, part of the Peace Summit happening in Vancouver.  This three day event brings together the Dalai Lama, Nobel Laureates and leaders in various fields to discuss issues related to building peace and compassion in the world.  Read More

INSPIR-ACTION Contest Winner: Andrea Gielens

Andrea Gielens is our official winner of the INSPIR-ACTION Contest!  Her story of working with the endangered Oregon Spotted Frog will be the basis for the next Monkey100 design.  Last week, I took a trip out to the Mountain View Wildlife Conservation Centre where the frogs are being reared and studied.  It’s a wonderful place, a bit of a secret, nestled as it is amid the farm fields of Langley.  I quickly learned that the center is home to other endangered creatures as well.  In fact, they host over 50 species of rare and endangered wildlife from across the globe.  Read More
